Personal aspects
Your favourite holiday destination?
Bornholm. A pearl in the Baltic Sea. Perfect peace and relaxation.
Following a long day’s work, you find yourself in a traffic jam that is going to hold you up for hours - how do you react?
That depends on how long I have been driving. After 800km, I would really have to work hard to retain a positive and constructive frame of mind... :-)
What would you like to learn in the blink of an eye?
Chinese or Japanese. I haven’t had much contact with Asian cultures but I am very curious and feel myself drawn towards them.
If you were to write your autobiography, what title would it have?
Unfinished symphony.
What did you want to be when you were a child?
As a child, there was only one thing I wanted to be: a farmer. I’m very lucky to do what I do today. However, sometimes in autumn I sometimes get a kind of yearning...
What do you love? Who or what are you a fan of?
I’ve got a really weakness for young vintage cars, older sports cars and elegant cabriolets.
Where would you like to live?
I am very happy in the Lower Rhine. All my family lives there. My desire to see distant places is satisfied through my work and I feel very grounded in where I come from.
What mistakes do you find easiest to forgive?
Being late. I am nearly always on time, but sometimes the world is different...
